Evidence
Platform compatibility
Compatibility is recorded by product, operating system, application version, connection method and firmware.
Test the real configuration
A platform logo alone is not evidence. Procurement records should identify the exact configuration that was evaluated.
Compatible is not certified
Compatibility testing and vendor certification are separate states and should be described separately.
Keep evidence current
Material firmware, hardware, operating-system or application changes should trigger a targeted retest.
Define the tested stack
A configuration record names every part of the chain: the product and hardware revision, operating system and build, meeting application and version, connection method, cable and firmware. If any part is missing, the evidence is incomplete.
Build a compatibility matrix
Keep one row per platform with the tested version, connection method, supporting record reference and review date. A matrix that is not dated is a marketing document, not evidence.
Ask for the matrix before buying
Request the matrix from the vendor before purchase and compare it with your actual hosts. The matrix should name your operating system and meeting application versions, not a general product family.
